The Kansas City Royals placed relief pitcher Kyle Zimmer (neck) on the 10-day injured list due to neck spasms on Wednesday. Infielder Emmanuel Rivera (wrist) was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move. The neck spasms first appeared for Zimmer during his outing against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. He walked all three batters he faced before being removed from the game. Zimmer got off to a strong start to the season. He had a 2.64 ERA by the end of June. However, July was brutal for him as he went on to allow 10 earned runs over 10.1 innings across the month.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
