Troy Merritt Looks To Stay Hot At John Deere Classic

Troy Merritt continued a run of hot play at last week's Rocket Mortgage Classic. Merritt fought to the bitter end before ultimately falling to Cam Davis in a five-hole playoff. The runner-up finish marked his third top-10 result since May. The 35-year-old will look to keep the momentum going in the upcoming John Deere Classic. His track record at TPC Deere Run is middling, as he's made the cut in five of eight career appearances with just a single top-25 finish. Merritt's recent form can be attributed to a sizzling putter that's led him to gain an average of 4.4 strokes on the greens over his last five tournaments. Putting is a trait that veteran DFS players know can vary wildly from week to week, which makes him a speculative play despite his recent results.
