Trevor Rogers Works Five Strong Innings On Monday

Miami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Trevor Rogers pitched well in Monday's start against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 2021 All-Star selection went five innings, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out eight and not allowing a walk. It was a great start against a powerful Dodgers team that had been on a nine game winning streak. Rogers threw 96 pitches (64 strikes) so he didn't have a chance to work a sixth inning to potentially earn a quality start. Still, Rogers was very effective and continues to work his way toward a Rookie of the Year award. He'll have a 2.22 ERA when he starts his next game.
