Josh Bell, Brad Hand Among Nationals Not On Roster

Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell and closer Brad Hand are the biggest names that do not appear on the team's roster as they are set to play their first game of the year Tuesday following a coronavirus outbreak. Nor are Kyle Schwarber or Josh Harrison, or either catcher Yan Gomes or Alex Avila. Starting pitchers Patrick Corbin and Jon Lester are not on it either but they could theoretically be back before their first scheduled start. For Tuesday, just be sure that if you are starting a National, that they are indeed playing. Also be aware that either Tanner Rainey or Daniel Hudson is likely to be favored for saves while Hand is out. There should still be little season-long effect, but keep your eye on all of these names in the coming week or so to see when they'll be back, and fringier players who are not currently on the roster can be dropped.
