New Jersey Devils goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood signed a three-year, $8.4 million ($2.8 average annual value) to remain in the Garden State. Blackwood, who was a restricted free agent, was excellent in his first full year in the league, posting a 2.77 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage in 43 starts in 2019-2020. In addition, the 23-year-old led all rookie netminders with 22 wins. With most expecting Blackwood to take over as the workhorse in net this season, the Devils surprisingly signed veteran goaltender Corey Crawford to a two-year deal over the offseason, leading to what might be more of a timeshare in net. Despite playing-time concerns, Blackwood should be considered as a strong late-round addition in upcoming fantasy drafts based on his great potential.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
