Lions Defense Will Have Desmond Trufant Back Sunday
Detroit Lions cornerback Desmond Trufant (hamstring) is expected back on the field for Sunday’s contest against New Orleans. Having been without Trufant for the past two weeks due to a hamstring ailment, Detroit’s defense should simultaneously get a boost from his return, while also not having to worry about covering All-Pro receiver Michael Thomas (ankle). Trufant was brought aboard this off-season from Atlanta, having become extremely familiar with quarterback Drew Brees and many of his pass-catching options. Despite that, the Lions’ defense holds little fantasy intrigue this week with Alvin Kamara running wild out of the backfield. A strong performance Sunday would give the team appeal for when they return in Week 6 against Jacksonville.
