The San Francisco Giants selected North Carolina State pitcher Nick Swiney with the 67th overall pick in the second round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. Swiney was 11-1 in his first two years in college as a middle reliever and won all four of his starts this spring before the season was shut down. However, the 21-year-old southpaw showed better stuff out of the bullpen, so his future role remains undecided because of his limited work as a starter. Swiney's changeup was a real force this spring and showed signs of becoming a plus offering. He's a high-effort guy that will need to throw quality strikes and prove that he can maintain his stuff as a starter.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
