The Major League Baseball Players Association is making a new proposal to the league for a season of 89 games with a full prorated share of salary and expanded playoffs, according to sources familiar with the situation. It could bring the two sides closer to an agreement, with the 89-game schedule proposal just 25 games under the last union offer. The season would start on July 10 and end on Oct. 11 and would include expanded playoffs this year and next year. The league is expected to reject the latest proposal and is set on ending the season on Sept. 27. It's important to note that TV networks do not want to move playoff games at all. This proposal could be seen as good news, but both sides have plenty of work left to do and need to do it fast.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
