Geno Smith Performs Well In Preseason Game
Geno Smith was the only QB to appear in Saturday's game besides Russell Wilson, and he took full advantage of the opportunity. Smith went 11-for-17 through the air for 117 yards, only got sacked once, and hustled in a touchdown on the ground. Smith showed poise in the pocket and regularly threw strong passes from awkward positions and while running. He looked like a solid backup quarterback who easily moved the ball up and down the field against LA's second- and third-string defense. With Paxton Lynch still in concussion protocol, this was a golden opportunity for Smith to show what he could do, and he took full advantage.
