J.D. Davis Starts Rally For Red-Hot Mets

The New York Mets erased a late two-run deficit to pull off another victory and inch closer into the playoff picture. A seventh-inning rally is the reason why, and it was kicked off by outfielder J.D. Davis. The 26-year-old drilled a solo home run to cut the deficit to one. It was one of three solo home runs in the inning, as the club overtook the Miami Marlins en route to a 5-4 victory. Davis is now batting an even .300 on the season with 12 home runs and 35 RBI. The Mets, meanwhile, have pulled to within two game of the second Wild Card spot in the National League.
