Gary Sanchez Possibly Headed To IL
After the New York Yankees' wild victory over the Minnesota Twins Tuesday night, manager Aaron Boone gave an update on catcher Gary Sanchez. The All-Star catcher exited the game in the eighth inning running down a ground out. He appeared to have suffered an ankle injury, but Boone proclaimed it to be a groin injury and a possible IL stint. This injury caused two IL stints for the 26-year-old last season. Boone additionally confirmed an MRI for Sanchez on Wednesday before a decision is made, but the injured list seems probable at this point.
