Jake Arrieta Scheduled To Pitch This Weekend
Philadelphia Phillies manager Gabe Kapler said that starting pitcher Jake Arrieta (elbow) is still scheduled to pitch this weekend against the Nationals. Arrieta has been pitching with a bone spur in his right elbow and allowed five earned runs in 4 1/3 innings last weekend against the Mets. The veteran right-hander has been bad in his last three starts and has seen his ERA rise to 4.67 to go with a 1.46 WHIP and 85 strikeouts in 108 innings over his 18 starts in 2019. There's still a chance the Phillies push Arrieta back or put him on the injured list, so he's a very risky option if he does start against Washington this weekend.
