Yordan Alvarez Hitting Fifth In Big League Debut

Houston Astros outfield prospect Yordan Alvarez is serving as the designated hitter and is batting fifth on Sunday in his major league debut against Orioles starting pitcher Dylan Bundy. The 21-year-old (22 on June 27) was called up from Triple-A Round Rock, where he hit a ridiculous .343/.443/.742 with 23 home runs and 71 RBI in just 56 games. He's ranked by MLB Pipeline as the team's No. 3 prospect and No. 23 overall. It's unclear how long he'll stick around in Houston with George Springer, Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa all injured, but Alvarez is the real deal and should be owned in all leagues now that he's getting major league at-bats.
