Jorge Soler Slated For Everyday Role

When the Kansas City Royals traded for outfielder Jorge Soler, he was expected to slot into the middle of their lineup right away. Instead, he's been an adventure. Soler has bounced around between the majors and Triple-A as he's had a mix of ice-cold and white-hot weeks. He's also dealt with injuries, a breakout by Jorge Bonifacio, and the husk of Alex Gordon getting paid $20 million to keep him out of the lineup. Now in his third season with the Royals, Soler is penciled in to play every day. The problem is no one's quite sure what to expect. He's at least got some history of success and plenty of pedigree, so he's a solid option to take as a late-round flyer. That said, don't get attached. While the plan is for him to play every day, there's a non-zero possibility out there that he may bat under .200 and be demoted before the middle of May.
