Defending Players champion Webb Simpson played well in defense of his title, logging a T16 finish in this year's edition. Simpson moved up the leaderboard with a final-round 68, his best score of the week. The short hitter wasn't able to take advantage of a soft TPC Sawgrass course that played much differently this year. The tournaments move to March from its previous May slot on the schedule gave the longer hitters a fairly significant advantage. Simpson should play well in the upcoming Valspar Championship on a Copperhead layout that doesn't always require players to hit driver. --Joe Nicely - RotoBaller
