Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Garret Sparks allowed three goals on 29 shots in Sunday's 4-1 road loss against the New York Rangers. He was making the start after Frederik Andersen won a tough game in overtime against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, so he needed a breather. Sparks wasn't awful, but rather just mediocre, and the Rangers came to play. Only right wing Kasperi Kapanen was able to break through for the Leafs on offense despite the fact they squeezed off a season-high 56 shots. Andersen will most likely be back in the crease as starter for Tuesday's road game against the Colorado Avalanche.--Daniel Dobish
