Florida Panthers defenseman Jacob MacDonald made a dream debut in the NHL Saturday night against Tampa, scoring with less than six minutes played. He's only the third rookie defenseman to score a goal in his Panthers debut and he also established a franchise record for the fastest goal by a rookie defenseman to begin their career (5:58). MacDonald had 20 goals and 55 points in 75 games in the minors last season, so there's some very good offensive upside in his game. He played in the bottom pairing with Alex Petrovic, logging 10:28, including 1:20 on the power play. Vincent Trocheck and Jonathan Huberdeau picked up the assists.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerRead More News
