Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Curtis McElhinney came back to haunt his former team on Friday night, making 31 saves with a .969 save percentage to beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-1. He was in a tough spot to perform, as the team had lost on Thursday in overtime to the Islanders, while the Jackets were on a high following a win in Detroit, but McElhinney passed the test in flying colors. Only Brandon Dubinsky got one past him in the opening period. McElhinney made 26 consecutive saves after letting one in, as he was named the first star of the game.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
