Jorge Lopez Expected To Start Thursday
Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost expects starting pitcher Jorge Lopez (rib) to make his scheduled start against the Tigers on Thursday. Lopez threw around 50 pitches in a side session on Tuesday and played catch on Wednesday. He is day-to-day but continues to make progress. Lopez left his start early last Friday after crashing into third baseman Hunter Dozier on an infield single. X-rays and an MRI exam showed no fractures, but he was having trouble breathing deeply. He has gone 2-3 with a 4.64 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in six starts for the Royals this year and might be worth streaming in deeper leagues if he's able to make the start against Detroit.
