Michael Wacha Has Another Setback
Michael Wacha (oblique) was scratched from his rehab start with Triple-A Memphis on Friday due to more oblique discomfort. He will be re-evaluated in St. Louis. This is proof that oblique injuries are notoriously difficult for pitchers to return from quickly. Wacha hasn't pitched in the big leagues since June 20, and this latest setback should officially end his chances of returning this year. It's unfortunate, too, as he was 8-2 with a very nice 3.20 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 7.6 K/9 in 15 starts before the injury.
