Greg Bird Back In Lineup On Monday

New York Yankees first baseman Greg Bird will return to the lineup for Monday's game against the New York Mets. He will bat sixth, while Luke Voit returns to his backup role. Neil Walker will be in right field and bat eighth, while Austin Romine catches and bats ninth. The Yankees will be facing off against phenomenal ace pitcher Jacob deGrom. While deGrom has been let down time and time again by his offense, he is still one of the premier pitchers in baseball and a dangerous opponent for a Yankees lineup missing Aaron Judge (wrist) and Gary Sanchez (groin). deGrom allowed two runs over eight innings his last time out against the Yanks, notching eight strikeouts in the process. It can be tough to start hitters against such a dominating ace, but Giancarlo Stanton has not only hit deGrom well, he's also swinging a hot bat, homering five times in his last six games.
