Luis Severino Ineffective In No-Decision

In what was supposed to be a duel between two of the finest pitchers in the American League, the New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians would end up in a home run battle. Yankees ace Luis Severino would only go five innings in one of his worst outings of the year. There were some alarming signs from the 24-year-old, as his velocity was down, his slider didn’t locate and he was tagged for his most hits in over a year. Severino allowed more home runs than strikeouts and was ultimately bailed out by his offense. Luckily, there doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with him health-wise and he should be ready to go for his next start, possibly as the starter in next Tuesday’s All-Star game.
