Hello my friends, and welcome back to another Wednesday edition. We've got 11 games on the Main slate tonight with a heavy dose of Eastern and Central time zone games and just two out west. Pitching looks like it's going to be a bit tricky to navigate here, too, which should make tournaments a bit more fun and cash games a little more difficult.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 6/27/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Madison Bumgarner - SP, vs COL ($9,800)
Bumgarner appears to be stretched out now, as he's pitched 103+ pitches in each of his past two starts. As a guy you'd like to think you can rely on to pitch 7+ innings, that's really important to see. His most recent start (of just four this season) was a strong one, and I like the matchup tonight against the Rockies - who aren't a very formidable offense away from Coors Field - in the ultimate pitchers park tonight. The Giants are currently -145 favorites on the moneyline and the Rockies have the lowest run projection of the Main slate at 3.4. Bumgarner has given up a bit of hard contact, but he's kept the ball on the ground for the most part (48% groundball rate) and the strikeout upside is good against a lineup that has a 27% strikeout rate against southpaws this season.
Kyle Gibson - SP, at CWS ($8,300)
If you're looking to devote a few more dollars to your bats in tournaments, Gibson is a solid option tonight on a pretty "meh" slate for pitching. Believe it or not, he's been pretty strong this season (save for the walks issues), and has limited opponent wOBA to under .300 to right-handed and lefty batters. He's also been pitching deep into games, throwing 105+ pitches in each of his last three starts and completing seven innings in two of them - which helps to raise his points floor and ceiling a bit. For the season, he's posted a decent 1.2 WHIP and the 8.2 K/9 is relatively desirable - especially when you add in the White Sox strikeout rate of 26% against righties this season.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
Paul Goldschmidt - 1B, at MIA ($4,300)
The Diamondbacks right-handed batters are in a great spot tonight, none more especially than Goldschmidt. He has been crushing the baseball lately (44% hard hit rate last two weeks, average batted ball distance of 253 feet) and has extremely strong splits against southpaws in the past year (.463 wOBA, .367 ISO) and he'll have strong lineup context today. Wei-Yen Chen isn't a good pitcher in the slightest, and he has also has an exteme fly ball rate that adds to the appeal of Goldschmidt and Co.
Jurickson Profar - 2B, vs SDP ($3,400)
This is a good value for a guy that has been roping the baseball of late, highlighted by a hard hit rate over 50% and a line drive rate that sits above 30% in the past two weeks. This shoud be a great hitters environment tonight, with positive lineup context against a pitcher that hardly misses any bats and has been giving up a lot of contact. Profar's splits have been strong against southpaws, too, most noticeably his .282 ISO split.
Kyle Seager - 3B, at BAL ($2,900)
I consider this price a steal when you factor in the matchup against a pitcher in Alex Cobb who struggles with lefties and the major park upgrade for the Mariners' bats. It's not too surprising to say the Mariners have one of the best run projections of the night at 4.9, and I'd expect a middle-of-the-order guy like Seager (.221 ISO split this season and 42% hard hit rate in the past two weeks) to be a main contributor.
Manny Machado - SS, vs SEA ($4,200)
Wade LeBlanc has been pretty serviceable this season, but his numbers are aided quite a bit by the pitcher friendly home park he plays in. Today, pitching in Baltimore, there are a few hitters that are on my radar and none moreso than Manny. Machado boasts a .226 ISO split and has a 43% hard hit rate over the past two weeks. He may see some more RBI opportunities than usual, too, as the Orioles have a lofty (by their standards) run projection of 4.8.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Mookie Betts - OF, vs LAA ($5,000)
With so much value on the slate (not to mention the pitching being fairly cheap as well), it makes it pretty easy to spend up and grab the red-hot Mookie in a pretty strong matchup. Andrew Heaney is far from the easiest matchup on the slate (more like middle of the pack), but he has certainly had his troubles with right-handed hitters - especially on the road. Betts has incredible splits against lefties this season, too, with a .445 wOBA and a .262 ISO.
Matt Joyce - OF, at DET ($2,600)
Joyce and his teammates get a park upgrade tonight and a date with Mike Fiers. It's not the easiest matchup on the board, but it's definitely one of the most opportune ones. Fiers is pretty equal opportunity in that he allows over a .450 slugging percentage to both righties and lefties, but his HR/9 to lefties is high at 2.16. Joyce boasts pretty good power against right-handed pitching (.234 ISO split) and is very cheap tonight considering that upside.
