After news broke early on Monday that New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez would indeed be placed on the disabled list with a groin strain, manager Aaron Boone wasn't positive about how long Sanchez would be out. It was revealed the 25-year-old suffered a Grade 1 strain, which will cost him approximately three to four weeks. Kyle Higashioka was promoted to serve as Austin Romine’s backup during the stretch Sanchez will miss. Earlier on Monday, the club didn’t hesitate to place their All-Star catcher on the disabled list even before the MRI results came back.
