Jared Hughes Earns Fourth Save Of Season

Cincinnati Reds relief pitcher Jared Hughes earned his fourth save of the season on Sunday against the Cardinals. Hughes came on to start the eighth inning and pitched two innings, allowing no runs on no hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Interim manager Jim Riggleman said that he did not deploy closer Raisel Iglesias because he wanted to give him a day to rest after pitching in three straight games, per MLB.com's Mark Sheldon. Iglesias has the closer role on lockdown, but Hughes still has fantasy relevance, posting a 1.02 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP with two wins, four saves, and four holds in 35 1/3 innings pitched. He is worth a look in deep daily leagues and also in deeper categories leagues.
