After starting pitcher Zach Eflin was pounded by the Toronto Blue Jays, the Philadelphia Phillies offense went to work in an attempt to come from behind. While Eflin himself got the scoring going with a solo home run in the third, the club direly needed some runs by the time the sixth inning got underway. Trailing by five runs, Carlos Santana stepped up with a runner on and drilled a home run to right, cutting the deficit to just three runs. It was his only hit of the game, while he also recorded a walk. Ultimately, the Phillies added two more runs but failed to drive in a run with the bases loaded in the ninth, resulting in defeat.--RDelgado
