St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Brett Cecil (shoulder) has been activated off the disabled list. The Cardinals likely wanted him to get in more than two rehab appearances. However, Tyler Lyons (back) went down, so the Cardinals decided to give Cecil an opportunity. Cecil has been out since late March due to left shoulder inflammation.
