Washington Nationals first baseman Matt Adams finds himself batting third and starting in left field again today. Adams has been on a tear as of late, and he hit another home run on Friday against Philadelphia. He generally hits right-handed pitching well, but so far this season he has been a revelation in a platoon role. Adams current OPS against righties in 2018 is now 1.195 and he has another juicy matchup today against Phillies right-hander Vince Velasquez. The Phillies starter has been prone to the long-ball throughout his career, allowing more than 1.5 HR per 9 innings. Adams also gets the benefit of hitting behind Bryce Harper and Anthony Rendon today, giving him plenty of RBI opportunities. Believe it or not, Adams is worthy of consideration in daily lineups today.--Phil Goyette
