With Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Robbie Ray going down with an oblique injury, it appears as if Kris Medlen will get the first shot at his rotation spot while Ray is on the DL. Medlen is yet to be confirmed as the starter but was recently scratched from his start in Triple-A. Medlen hasn't appeared in the big leagues since 2016 and while his career 3.25 ERA looks nice on paper, only 75 of his 173 appearances have come as a starter. He should be left on the waiver wire going forward.--Dan Fappiano
