Parker Bridwell Unable to Escape Second Inning in Start on Friday
Matt Shoemaker, Angels starter Parker Bridwell had the shortest start of his career Friday against the Athletics as he completed only 1 2/3 innings of his 2018 debut. Bridwell allowed six runs on seven hits — three of which were home runs — but managed to avoid the loss thanks to the Angels' scoring outburst. Making 20 starts last year, Bridwell recorded a 3.64 ERA and 1.198 WHIP over 121 innings with Los Angeles. Bridwell was likely going to be sent back down to the minors after Shoemaker returned from the DL, and a performance like his on Friday makes it even less likely he'd remain with the Angels long-term.
