Fighting a high ankle sprain, Tony Finau toughed it out to shoot a brilliant 68 in the first round of the Masters on Thursday. Finau’s availability to play was in doubt until late this morning. He received the go ahead from doctors when an MRI showed no major damage. Though it was evident at times throughout the round that he was in pain, Finau was able to play the type of golf that has made him a fan favorite over the past year. His length and power were on full display, as Finau birdied all four of Augusta National’s par fives to finish tied for second at four-under par. The exciting young player will have a quick turnaround on the sore ankle, as he tees off at 9:36 AM Friday morning.--Joe Nicely - RotoBaller
