Malik Monk Provides 17 Points Off The Bench

Charlotte Hornets shooting guard Malik Monk matched the third-best scoring output of his young career on Saturday, as he got 17 points off the bench in a 107-93 loss to Washington. Many of the starters were struggling, which provided Monk an opportunity of getting some extra playing time and he ended up logging 24 minutes. Somehow he also ended up with the most shot attempts on the team, going 7-for-17 from the field while shooting 3-for-9 from deep. The Hornets are out of the playoff race, so Monk's role should increase in the final games of the season. He's averaged only 12.4 minutes so far in his rookie year.
