For Paul Casey, advancing past the group stage at the WGC Dell Match Play came down to a playoff with Kyle Stanley. Both Casey and Stanley finished the group-stage matches with a 2-1-0 record, so a playoff was needed to determine who would advance. Each made par at the first hole, and on the second hole Stanley hit his approach to five feet while Casey followed up by hitting his to 17 feet. After Casey missed his birdie try, Stanley calmly sunk his to eliminate Casey and move on. Still, Casey has been playing very good golf of late and will head to the Masters next, a course he has finished sixth or better at in three straight years with plenty of confidence. Casey should be on the list of contenders in two weeks.--cmangano
