Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting for Week 17 MNF:

Matthew Stafford, QB, Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford continues to be a must-start fantasy option heading into Monday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17. Stafford tallied multiple touchdowns in each of his last nine games, and he only threw three interceptions during that span. The 37-year-old veteran is firmly in the hunt for the 2025 NFL MVP award, remaining in a neck-and-neck battle with Drake Maye as the regular season winds down. Despite lacking rushing upside, Stafford has ranked as the overall QB3 in fantasy football this season.

The Falcons rank near the middle of the league in terms of fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks, but Stafford has shown that he is matchup-proof. He'll remain a high-scoring threat this week, even without Davante Adams (hamstring) at his disposal. Adams sat out Week 16, and Stafford still managed to rack up 457 yards and three touchdowns, albeit with a little help from overtime. He should be started in all leagues during Week 17.

Kyren Williams, RB, Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams earned a season-high 26 touches last week, leaving fantasy managers wondering if he might handle a similar workload against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football in Week 17. It was previously reported that the Rams were trying to limit Williams' volume to keep him fresh for the playoffs, so it was a bit surprising to see him touch the ball 26 times on a 71% snap share on Thursday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks. On the other hand, that game was comparable to a playoff game, so it makes sense that Los Angeles brought out all of the stops.

Going forward, we can expect Williams' workload to be managed when the Rams have a very favorable game script. That should be the case on Monday night as the Rams are seven-point favorites against the Falcons. Williams probably won't be quite as involved as last week, but he should remain the Rams' primary ball-carrier while also carving out a role in the receiving game. He ranks as a low-end RB1 against the Falcons, who have allowed the 11th-most rushing yards to running backs in 2025.

Kirk Cousins, QB, Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins has a 5:1 TD:INT over the last two weeks as he's focused his attention on the team's top playmakers rather than spreading the ball around. The 37-year-old may have to continue to air it out in Week 17 as the Falcons are 7.5-point underdogs for a Monday Night Football showdown against the Rams that has one of the higher expected point totals on the slate (49.5). It has been easier to throw on the Rams than to run it, too, with Los Angeles allowing the second-most yards per game through the air over the last three weeks (277.7) while yielding the fifth-fewest rush yards per game over that span (97.3).

No. 1 wide receiver Drake London (knee) heads into the contest with a questionable tag, but if he were to miss the game, those targets would likely be divvied up between Kyle Pitts Sr.David Sills V, and Bijan Robinson. Despite some solid stats over the past couple of weeks, the 4x Pro Bowler shapes up as a low-end QB2 for MNF, albeit with some slight upside with all of the talented weapons at his disposal.

Bijan Robinson, RB, Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is coming off the second straight week in which he's produced at least 168 total yards and a touchdown, currently sitting as a top-five running back in season-long fantasy. The 23-year-old even led the team with 11 targets in Week 16 despite the return of Drake London (knee). The work in the passing game provides the workhorse back with a high weekly floor, and he may need it in a Week 17 matchup against the Rams, who have limited opposing running backs to the fourth-fewest fantasy points this season, and are yielding just 97.3 rush yards per game over their last three (fifth-fewest).

Expect the third-year pro to be heavily involved once again in a home game on Monday night, and with a high expected point total in this one (49.5), there should be plenty of scoring, making Robinson a high-end RB1 again in Week 17.

Blake Corum, RB, Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum has been able to produce standalone fantasy value in fantasy football despite operating as the No. 2 option out of the backfield. Corum continues to play behind Kyren Williams, who had a whopping 26 touches last week. However, given how well the Rams' offense has played, Corum has still produced highly effective fantasy performances. He ranks as the overall RB8 over his last four games, largely thanks to the fact that he has averaged 7.5 yards per carry and scored five touchdowns during that span.

The 25-year-old rarely ever gets any targets in the passing game, so he'll need to maintain his efficiency and continue finding the end zone if he's going to keep up his hot fantasy streak. The Falcons have been tough against running backs this year, but the Rams frequently get into scoring position and should set up several goal-line opportunities for Corum on Monday night. He's a low-end RB2 at the moment.

Colby Parkinson, TE, Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams tight end Colby Parkinson will look to bounce back during Monday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17. Parkinson had six touchdowns over his previous six games coming into last week, but then he produced somewhat of a dud with just two catches for 21 yards on Thursday Night Football against the Seahawks. That result was particularly disappointing given that fantasy managers expected Parkinson to excel around the goal line with Davante Adams (hamstring) sidelined.

Adams is doubtful for Week 17, too, and while managers are optimistic about Parkinson bouncing back, that's far from guaranteed. This matchup is a bit worrisome given that Atlanta has allowed the fewest touchdowns and third-fewest fantasy points to tight ends in 2025. The 26-year-old is a fringe top-12 tight end with top-five upside, but his floor could also place him outside the top 25. He's a high-risk option heading into Week 17.

Kyle Pitts Sr., TE, Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. broke out over the last two weeks, combining for 18 catches on 21 targets that amounted to 223 yards and four touchdowns. He's now the second-highest scoring tight end in fantasy, and is arguably Kirk Cousins' favorite target since taking over for Michael Penix Jr. (knee). Drake London (knee) returned to action last week, but Pitts recorded more targets, catches, and yards than London as the team's No. 1 receiver played just 69 percent of the offensive snaps.

London has been limited in practice all week and is officially questionable for MNF, while Pitts was a limited participant on Friday and Saturday, but carries no injury designation into the Week 17 contest. Assuming Pitts suits up, he'll take a Rams defense that is so-so defending tight ends, but it's also a defense that's yielded the second-most passing yards per game over their last three contests (277.7) and allowed Seattle's TE AJ Barner to catch four passes for 49 yards and a score in Week 16. The 6-foot-6 tight end projects as a high-end TE1 for Monday Night Football, and if London were to end up missing the game, it would be a boon to Pitts' potential target total.

Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London (knee) was a non-factor in Week 16 after returning from a four-game absence, tallying just three receptions for 27 scoreless yards while playing just 69 percent of the team's offensive snaps. The 24-year-old was limited in practice all week and takes a questionable designation into Monday night's game versus the Rams. Because he has a Monday night game, there is some risk in planning to play him in the event he does not suit up, but as long as he does play, fantasy managers should be putting him in their lineups, as he still received eight targets last week despite his limited production.

The 6-foot-4 wideout has recorded at least eight targets in nine of the ten games he's played this season, and had gone over 100 yards receiving in five of his last six prior to Week 16's dud. He'll go up against a Rams defense that has yielded the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers for the season and 277.7 yards per game through the air over the last three weeks (second-most). In a Monday Night Football game that has a high over/under of 49.5 and the Falcons as 7.5-point underdogs, Atlanta may need to air it out, but with some uncertainty around the knee and plenty of other receiving options on this team, London projects as a low-end WR1 this week.
