Is Alvin Kamara Out for the 2025 Season?
While the 30-year-old running back has not been officially ruled out for the season, he is trending in that direction. Given that he has yet to return to practice in any capacity since suffering the injury, Kamara will need to make substantial progress this week to have a chance to return over the final weeks of the campaign.
Kamara is one of many New Orleans running backs who are on the shelf. The team's primary No. 2 option, Kendre Miller (knee), is out for the season with a torn ACL, and their rookie, Devin Neal (hamstring), recently hit season-ending IR due to a hamstring injury.
As a result, this has left Audric Estime and Evan Hull with the primary options. Managers should keep an eye on his status during practice this week. If he cannot return in any capacity, managers should not expect him to be in the mix for the final two games.

Alvin Kamara 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook
Given his current status, managers should only consider stashing Kamara in deep 14-team formats heading into Week 17. As noted above, while Kamara has not been officially ruled out for the season, the running back is losing value each week, given that he has yet to step on the practice field.
In addition, given the ample time he has missed, there is no guarantee that Kamara will resume his workhorse role over their final two games, which have minimal meaning, given their placement in the standings.
As a result, managers should expect Estime, Hull, and even utility man Taysom Hill to handle the team's rushing attack over the final two weeks. During their victory over the Jets, Hill led the rushing attack, logging 12 carries for 42 yards, and brought in four of his six targets for another 36 yards.

Estime operated as the No. 2 option, taking five carries for 19 yards while Hill managed only three yards on five attempts.
If Kamara were to be cleared to return this season, he would hold low-end RB2 value in PPR formats and high-end FLEX upside in half-PPR formats.
