Is Mike Evans Playing Today? Week 15 Thursday Night Fantasy Football Injury Report

Mike Evans - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Will Mike Evans play today for Week 15 Thursday Night Football (TNF)? Is Mike Evans playing or out? The latest Mike Evans injury report and fantasy updates.

After being one of the most consistent and dependable wide receivers in the NFL for many years in a row, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has spent most of this season on the sideline due to injury.

Now, as the fantasy football playoffs get underway, Evans is finally approaching his return to action. Getting Evans back would be a major bonus for fantasy managers heading into the playoffs.

Will Evans suit up in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons, or will managers be forced to pivot at a crucial time in the season?

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Mike Evans Fantasy Football Injury Update

A collarbone injury has kept Evans sidelined since Week 7, but he was able to return to practice in a limited capacity this week. Evans enters Thursday Night Football with a questionable tag after three consecutive limited practices.

Injuries have plagued Evans all year long. Prior to the broken collarbone, he dealt with a hamstring issue. He has appeared in four games this season, catching passes in three of those four contests.

Although Evans is listed as questionable, it appears that he is trending in the right direction. After all, the Buccaneers activated him from injured reserve on Thursday.

Evans' activation doesn't guarantee that he'll play on Thursday night, but it's certainly a promising sign. Roster spots are precious, and the Buccaneers likely wouldn't have him occupy a spot on the 53-man roster if he didn't have a very strong chance to play.

At worst, he'll be a game-time decision, but managers should feel quite optimistic after hearing the news of his activation.

Mike Evans Fantasy Football Injury Impact

Evans made history with at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first 11 NFL seasons. He was a top-22 receiver in PPR leagues during each of those campaigns, including four top-10 finishes. The veteran's quest to extend his 1,000-yard streak is essentially guaranteed to end this season, as he needs 860 yards over the final four games to reach that mark.

Although the 32-year-old probably won't be able to extend his historic streak, he should still have an enormous impact in fantasy football. Emeka Egbuka has struggled with drops lately, and Chris Godwin Jr. hasn't asserted himself as an alpha receiver. As a result, Evans should return to the alpha receiver role that he has occupied for several years.

Over his first and only three healthy weeks this season, Evans averaged 4.7 catches, 46.7 yards, and 0.3 touchdowns per game. He played at least 70% of the snaps in each of those three games, scored double-digit fantasy points (full-PPR) in all three contests, and amassed an impressive 27 targets.

Evans does have some competition in this offense with Egbuka, Godwin, and Bucky Irving all healthy. However, the Bucs have a high-powered offense and should have no trouble distributing a healthy dose of opportunities to every prominent player involved.

This week, Evans takes on the Atlanta Falcons, whose secondary has allowed the 10th-most fantasy points and fourth-most touchdowns to opposing wide receivers in 2025. Just last week, they surrendered seven catches, 92 yards, and two touchdowns to Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

This is a very favorable matchup for Evans to return to, and it should vault him into the low-end WR1 tier for fantasy football.
