NFL Insider Tom Pelissero reported that Detroit Lions standout defensive back Brian Branch (Achilles) is feared to have suffered an Achilles injury on Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys. Branch will have further tests on Friday morning, but another potential blow to a Detroit team coming off a massive win in a high-scoring Thursday Night Football affair. Branch is one of the Lions' best defensive players, known for his coverage skills, blitzing ability, open-field tackling, and leadership. Losing this caliber of player at this point in the season to something like an Achilles injury is a really tough break for a team with high expectations. Lions fans and fantasy managers in Individual Defensive Player (IDP) leagues will want to keep tabs on the further testing he will receive on Friday morning.--Nicho Roessler
