Dan Campbell Appears to Take Over Play-Calling for Lions Offense
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell appears to have taken over offensive play-calling duties during Sunday's Week 10 contest against the Washington Commanders, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Campbell was seen reading off a play sheet and talking into a headset while the Lions' offense was on the field. This development follows reports of a disconnect between offensive coordinator John Morton and players and coaches. Campbell previously indicated that it was "possible" that he'd handle play-calling, and it appears that change is now official. Underwhelming coaching from the offensive coordinator post is foreign to the Lions, who enjoyed years of success when Ben Johnson previously held the role before accepting the head coaching job in Chicago.
