Keenan Allen, Darius Slayton, Chris Olave: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 10

Chris Olave - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Should I start Keenan Allen, Darius Slayton, Chris Olave for Week 10? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.

Few positions in fantasy football have been as impacted by injuries this season as the wide receiver position. That has forced fantasy managers to lean on more volatile options to win their matchups.

Depending on your scoring format, there are a few ways you can go. In PPR leagues, there are opportunities to try and target players who get large target shares on short attempts. For non-PPR leagues, taking swings on boom-or-bust downfield options is more appropriate.

Below are three players, Keenan Allen, Darius Slayton, and Chris Olave, who cover all playstyles for fantasy football. But are any of them worth starting in Week 10? Read below to find out.

Should I Start Keenan Allen for Fantasy Football?

Keenan Allen got off to a fast start in 2025 but has slowly come back down to Earth as other weapons in the passing attack have emerged.

From Weeks 1 to 3, Allen averaged 18.8 PPR points per game, averaging 9.3 targets, 6.3 receptions, 64.7 receiving yards, and a touchdown per game. Allen was pacing the Chargers in target share (25%) and was especially effective in the red zone, catching three of five end zone targets.

Since Week 4, the Chargers' offense has started to shift. Increased targets for second-year receiver Ladd McConkey (52) and the emergence of rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden (70.4% route participation) have spread the target distribution out. From Weeks 4 to 9, Allen is averaging just 7.8 targets, 5.2 receptions, and 54.3 receiving yards with one touchdown. He’s averaging 11.6 PPR points per game (WR40), but that is largely on the back of a 28.9-point effort in Week 7.

It is fair to view Allen as a WR3/FLEX play going forward. He’s still earning a steady volume of targets, but his lack of dynamism after the catch makes it hard for him to put up big fantasy weeks. The Steelers have the 11th-highest rate of Cover 3 (33.6%) this season, so Allen should get a slight bump as a slot/underneath pass catcher.

He is a high-end WR3 who can finish as a WR2 if he scores a touchdown.

Should I Start Darius Slayton for Fantasy Football?

Darius Slayton has struggled to be a usable player in fantasy this season, averaging 6.1 PPR points per game this season. Over his last five games (Slayton missed Weeks 6 and 7 with an injury), the veteran receiver is averaging 5.2 targets and 3.4 receptions, but has just 38.6 receiving yards.

One issue has been the lack of deep passing success for rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. Dart is 14th in 20+ yard throws since becoming the starting quarterback in Week 3 (25), but he has just eight completions on those attempts (32% completion rate).

Slayton is a boom or bust WR4 because of where he catches passes, but could be in line for a better week against the Chicago Bears in Week 10. The Bears have given up the second-highest completion percentage (60%) and the second-most yards (477) and touchdowns (5) on 20+ yard passes this season.

Should I Start Chris Olave for Fantasy Football?

Chris Olave has rebounded nicely from his concussion struggles in 2024. Olave is currently the WR17 in PPR points per game (14.2), leaning on a high-target volume to remain fantasy relevant in a poor offensive environment.

From Weeks 1 to 8, Olave averaged 10.4 targets, 6.5 receptions, and 62.9 receiving yards per game. He had five games with at least 10 targets, but was struggling to put up big fantasy numbers thanks to his role due to an average depth of target that was below 8.0 in four games.

Week 9 was his first game with Tyler Shough under center. Olave’s volume took a slight hit in this small sample size (4), but he was more efficient (three receptions for 57 yards) and had his second-highest average target depth of the season (12.5).

Olave got an even bigger boost when the Saints elected to trade away Rashid Shaheed during the trade deadline. He is now the unquestioned target earner in New Orleans, competing with the likes of Brandin Cooks, Devaughn Vele, Juwan Johnson, and Taysom Hill for targets.

We know the Saints are bad and will be consistently in negative game scripts. That means that New Orleans will likely remain a high-volume passing offense with the passing attack flowing through Olave. He should be considered a solid WR2 going forward and should be a locked-in starter.
