Dallas Mavericks forward/center Anthony Davis (calf) will miss a third straight game on Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans. He suffered a low-grade calf strain a week ago in a game against the Indiana Pacers, and it's unclear when he will be ready to rejoin the lineup. Dallas planned to re-evaluate Davis this week. Daniel Gafford, who made his season debut last week, has taken over Davis' place in the first unit. He has averaged 10.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in 21.0 minutes. Gafford was supposed to be limited to 15-18 minutes, but he played 25 minutes last time against the Houston Rockets, indicating he might be ready for his usual workload going forward.--Taavi Pailk
