2025 Fantasy Football: Week 9 Waiver Wire Adds

Tyrone Tracy Jr., RB- Giants

Tyrone Tracy has spent the majority of the season operating as the No.2 option behind breakout rookie Cam Skattebo. However, during this loss to the Eagles on Sunday, Skattebo suffered a season-ending ankle injury, which will allow the second-year running back to return to the starter's role.

In the three games in which Tracy saw nine or more touches this season, he averaged a solid 3.8 YPC with 7.8 PPR points per game during this stretch. Last season, despite playing on one of the worst offensive units in the sport, Tracy was very effective.

From Week 5 on, Tracy would average a strong 13.5 PPR points per game. He was heavily involved in all aspects of the game, taking 13.8 carries per game and seeing 3.6 targets per game. Given his upside to be a three-down option, Tracy is a must-target option on the waiver wire this week.

Oronde Gadsden, TE - Chargers

Oronde Gadsden was a popular target on the waiver wire last week, and this may be your final chance to secure a potential TE1. On Thursday evening, the rookie tight end continued his breakout, catching all five of his targets for 77 yards and a score. Over his last three games, Gadsden has caught 19 of his 22 targets for 309 yards and two touchdowns.

Even though the Los Angeles passing attack is quite crowded with multiple high-end WRs, Gadsden has seen his target share increase and should carry a solid TE1 upside every week going forward.

Josh Downs, WR - Colts

After Downs missed Week 7 due to a concussion, many managers in shallower formats likely cut ties with the young wideout. However, in his return on Sunday, Downs continued his strong run, catching all three of his targets for 39 yards and a touchdown. Over his last three games, Downs has averaged 13.5 PPR points per game and caught 5.0 passes for 45.0 yards per game.

While he remains the team's No. 3 WR in terms of snap share, when on the field, Daniel Jones is looking his way. He is a solid WR3/FLEX in PPR formats going forward and needs to be rostered more widely.

Darnell Mooney, WR - Falcons

Darnell Mooney has missed time this season, playing in only five games due to a hamstring injury. When in the field. Mooney has not been overly consistent, totaling over 50 receiving yards just once. In fact, this past Sunday, Mooney was the team's WR1 with Drake London sidelined, but did not enjoy a productive showing, catching just one of his four targets for 11 yards.

However, last season, Mooney was a strong WR3 for fantasy, tallying 992 yards and five touchdowns on 64 receptions. If London were to remain sidelined due to this hip injury, Mooney could see a high target share in the short term. In addition, Mooney should see his production continue to climb as he finds his footing and moves past his own injury.

Trey Benson, RB - Cardinals

Trey Benson (knee) has been on the IR since Week 4 but is quickly approaching his return. Benson can return to action as early as Week 10 and will even have an additional week to rest, as the Cardinals were off this past Sunday. As a result, managers could see Benson return to the field as soon as he is eligible.

While he has been sidelined, the Cardinals have relied on a committee between Bam Knight, Michael Carter, and Emari Demercado. While Knight has emerged as the "lead" option, neither has been overly productive. On Monday, the Cardinals parted ways with Carter, suggesting that Benson will not only return very soon, but likely return to his workhorse role.

Benson is a must-add where available, as he should carry high-end RB2 upside as soon as he is cleared to return. He should have a three-down role in the Arizona offense.

Tank Bigsby, RB - Eagles

The final running back we will highlight this week is more of a high-upside stash option than a short-term option. The Eagles are off in Week 9, but could be without their top running back, Saquon Barkley, in Week 10. Barkley exited their Week 8 contest early due to a groin injury, which paved the way for Bigsby to not only lead the backfield but also emerge as the clear RB2 on the roster.

In relief, Bigsby took nine carries for an impressive 104 yards. If Barkley were to miss any time, Bigsby would enter high-end RB2 territory due to his elite offensive situation. Last season in Jacksonville, Bigsby showed similar upside, averaging 4.6 YPC.

Kayshon Boutte, WR - Patriots

The last player we will spotlight this week is New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte. Boutte has operated as a full-time option in the passing attack this season and appears to be finally emerging as a legit weekly contributor. After averaging 12.4 PPR points per game in Weeks 1 and 2, Boutte would go on to average a low 5.0 PPR points over the next three games.

However, since Week 6, Boutte has averaged an impressive 18.8 PPR points per game. During this three-game stretch, he has seen just 4.0 targets per game but has been very effective on them, tallying 74.3 yards per game.

While his target share should result in disappointing showings, Boutte's role in an emerging offense with an MVP-level QB in Drake Maye makes him worth rostering in all standard 12-team leagues going forward.
