Derwin James Believed to Have Suffered Low-Ankle Sprain
Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James (ankle) is believed to have suffered a low-ankle sprain in Thursday night's win over the Minnesota Vikings, sources told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. James was scheduled to undergo an MRI exam on Friday, but the hope is that he's not dealing with a serious injury. It's good news for the Pro Bowl safety, although it doesn't mean he'll necessarily be ready to return for a Week 9 game on the road against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Nov. 2. The good news is that the Bolts will have 10 days before their next game. Unfortunately for fantasy managers in IDP formats, James suffered his ankle injury in the first half of Thursday's game and put up a donut in the score sheet with no tackles. Even if James cannot return next weekend, the Chargers' defense/special teams unit should be considered a must-start against Tennessee in Week 9.
