Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 6:
Keenan Allen, WR, Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen made NFL history on Sunday by becoming the fastest player to reach 1,000 receptions. He achieved this in just 159 games, eight fewer than Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison. The veteran led the team with five catches for 58 yards on nine targets during their 27-10 loss to the Washington Commanders. It could have been an even bigger day, as some big gains were wiped out by penalties, including a 31-yard catch nullified by an illegal formation call.
Despite reaching this milestone, L.A.'s offense struggled to find its rhythm behind a battered line. With rookie running back Omarion Hampton (ankle) placed on IR and facing the vulnerable Miami Dolphins defense next, Allen is expected to remain a primary target for Herbert as the Chargers try to end their two-game losing streak.
Jameson Williams, WR, Lions
Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams continues to play a marginal role in his team's offense. In Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Williams recorded just one catch on one target for nine yards. The 24-year-old simply has not been much of a factor in Detroit this season, as he's logged 11 catches for 223 yards and one touchdown through five games on 21 targets. Williams remains a big-play threat, leading the NFL by averaging 20.3 yards per reception.
His playing time is also stable, as he's played at least 82% of the Lions' offensive snaps in all five games. Still, his low target volume and downfield usage make Williams a boom/bust flex option at best. Heading into a Week 6 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, fantasy managers should likely be searching for ways to keep Williams out of their starting lineup.
Jakobi Meyers, WR, Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has seen his production dip in recent weeks, as younger playmakers in the offense continue to carve out larger roles. In Week 4 against the Bears, Meyers caught just four of seven targets for 30 yards, with his longest reception going for only 10 yards.
The outing marked his third consecutive game with declining yardage totals, raising concerns about his ceiling moving forward. Despite those struggles, Meyers still led the team in targets last week, showing he remains a trusted option for Geno Smith in the passing game. While the lack of big plays limits his upside, his steady volume keeps him relevant as a flex play, particularly in PPR formats.
Rashid Shaheed, WR, Saints
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed recorded four catches for 114 yards and a touchdown in his team's 26-14 Week 5 win over the New York Giants. Known as one of the league's premier big-play threats. Shaheed broke loose for an 87-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter.
The 27-year-old has recorded 22 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns on 30 targets through five games so far this season. Shaheed ranks third on the Saints in targets behind wide receiver Chris Olave and tight end Juwan Johnson, but he's got far more explosive potential than any of his New Orleans teammates. Shaheed remains a boom/bust flex option in the majority of fantasy leagues. That remains the case against the Patriots in Week 6.
