Carson Wentz Undergoing Further Evaluation on Shoulder Injury
Carson Wentz (shoulder) is undergoing further evaluation on the shoulder injury he suffered during the team's Week 5 win over the Cleveland Browns. Wentz was able to finish the game, but it sounds like he "came in pretty sore," per Alec Lewis of The Athletic. The Vikings have a bye in Week 6, so Wentz will have some time to heal before the team's next game. Minnesota quarterback J.J. McCarthy (ankle) could also be back from the ankle injury that has sidelined him for the last three games by that time as well. It's not clear who the Vikings will turn to under center if both quarterbacks are available. If neither Wentz nor McCarthy is healthy in Week 7, rookie quarterback Max Brosmer could be the next man up in Minnesota.
