Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 4 for Thursday Night Football:
Sam Darnold, QB, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold has turned in two straight solid fantasy performances. Darnold threw for an efficient 218 yards and two touchdowns in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints. The Seahawks did not need Darnold to do much in a game in which running back Kenneth Walker III rushed for two touchdowns and the defense dominated.
However, the performance was still enough for Darnold to deliver 16.7 fantasy points in four-point passing touchdown formats. Now that Darnold looks fully comfortable in Seattle's offense, he has a chance to deliver great fantasy performances in the right matchups.
The Seahawks are looking like a team that may be able to put up points in a hurry this year. Darnold already proved that he could be a solid fantasy quarterback in 2024. If you are battling quarterback injuries or poor play, keep Darnold on your radar moving forward.
Zach Charbonnet, RB, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet (foot) was listed as a full participant for the second straight day this week on Tuesday's estimated injury report, according to John Boyle of Seahawks.com.
Charbonnet missed the team's Week 3 blowout win over the visiting New Orleans Saints on Sunday with a foot injury, but he appears to be on track to return despite a short turnaround in Week 4 for a divisional clash against the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night. The 24-year-old was unable to practice at all last week. Charbonnet's status on Wednesday will be worth watching. If he's able to return this week, it will be bad news for Kenneth Walker III's upside.
In the first two games of the year, Walker and Charbonnet were involved in a timeshare. The former second-rounder has averaged just 2.1 yards per carry on 27 rushing attempts for 57 yards and a touchdown. If Charb is active on Thursday night, he'll be in play as an RB3/flex in fantasy lineups.
Trey Benson, RB, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said he is fully confident in second-year running back Trey Benson's ability to take on a bigger workload with veteran back James Conner (ankle) sidelined for the remainder of 2025.
Benson appears to be in line to handle the vast majority of backfield touches in Arizona, at least in the immediate future. The 23-year-old has recorded 170 yards from scrimmage on 29 touches through his first three games of 2025.
In any fantasy league where Benson is not already rostered, he should be the number one priority add on the waiver wire heading into a Week 4 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Cooper Kupp, WR, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp is looking like a player who will be difficult to trust in fantasy football this season. Kupp scored 16 fantasy points on nine targets in Week 2, but he has only earned three targets in each of the Seahawks' other two games.
Kupp reeled in two receptions for 31 yards in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints despite the Seahawks scoring 44 points. With fellow wide receiver Tory Horton earning a larger role within the offense, Kupp may be up and down this season.
He is a great chain-mover and veteran for quarterback Sam Darnold to trust, but his lack of consistent targets through three weeks makes him difficult to project in fantasy. He will always be a threat to earn eight to 10 targets in any given week, but it is clear that he could have a series of dud performances throughout the year as well.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba continued his tremendous start to the 2025 season in his team's 44-13 Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints.
Smith-Njigba hauled in five catches on six targets for 96 yards and a touchdown, bringing his season totals to 22 catches, 323 yards, and one score. The 23-year-old was a late addition to Seattle's injury report leading into Sunday due to an illness, but he still managed to dominate.
The third-year star, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, is a must-start fantasy wide receiver and may be establishing himself as one of the league's truly elite players at the position.
