Tommy Edman Takes Live Batting Practice on Friday
Tommy Edman (ankle) was able to take live batting practice ahead of Friday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Edman was able to take live at-bats without any issues. This is the first time that Edman has been able to swing the bat since landing on the injured list in early August. The Dodgers are hopeful that Edman will be able to return to the lineup in early September. It's unclear if Edman will require a minor league rehab assignment or not. Regardless, Edman shouldn't be sidelined for too much longer. Alex Freeland and Miguel Rojas figure to split up the playing time at second base until Edman is ready.
