Jonah Tong Confirmed to Start on Friday
Jonah Tong is slated to start Friday's contest against the Miami Marlins. The right-hander is slated to make his MLB debut in this game. Tong has been one of the most dominant pitchers in the entire minor leagues this season and is finally being rewarded with a promotion. Tong began the campaign with Double-A and logged an impressive 102 innings to the tune of a 1.68 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP. During this stretch, Tong racked up an eye-catching 162 strikeouts with just 44 walks. He was then bumped up to Triple-A Syracuse. With the top ranks of the system, Tong needed only two starts to prove he was ready to join the big leagues. Given his elite upside, he should be viewed as a must-add in all leagues ahead of his debut.
