Masyn Winn to Undergo MRI on Knee
St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn (knee) will undergo an MRI on his sore left knee on Monday, John Denton of MLB.com reports. Winn said that a previous MRI in July revealed "a little something," but he received an injection during the All-Star break and has continued to play through the issue. While the 23-year-old would like to finish the season before potentially undergoing arthroscopic surgery, the Cardinals should have a better idea of his status on Monday. Winn missed the Cardinals' 7-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday and has slumped to a .200/.259/.320 line over 19 games and 81 plate appearances in August. Across 486 trips to the plate this year, the defensive wiz has hit .258/.314/.378 with nine homers, 46 RBI, 66 runs scored, and nine stolen bases.
