Khamzat Chimaev became the new middleweight champion after outclassing and dominating Dricus Du Plessis en route to a unanimous decision win. It wasn't the most exciting fight, but Chimaev was in complete control, taking Du Plessis down almost at will. Having suffocating top control coupled with ground-and-pound, he captured the undisputed middleweight belt. Chimaev's overwhelming control throughout the match was reflected in stats, as he landed 131 of 137 strikes just in the first round, not to mention his total control time of 21:40. In 25 minutes, Chimaev landed 529 total strikes, 37 significant strikes and 12 takedowns. With the win, Chimaev improved to 15-0 as a pro and is now 9-0 in the UFC.--Alen Kurbasic
