Cam Schlittler Punches Out Six on Wednesday
Cam Schlittler struck out six hitters in a no-decision against the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday evening. The right-hander logged five innings of one-run ball. He allowed only two hits and two walks. Most of his damage came in the fourth inning when Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton knocked a double and eventually scored on a Luke Keaschall RBI groundout. Since the start of August (three starts), Schlittler has posted a 3.00 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 15:5 K:BB across 15 innings of work. In his first three starts in the majors, he held a higher 4.91 ERA with a 1.84 WHIP. Given his strong production in August, fantasy managers should expect the Northeast product to remain in the starting rotation for the time being. He is lined up to face the Tampa Bay Rays in his next start.
